365 days in static

I quite like looking forward, the bright lights the weekend beholds is always encouraging during slumps in the week. With 4 days of freedom, this Easter weekend has been looking good in the calendar all year.

Peering back over my shoulder is pretty fun too, reflecting on the days, weeks and months past. Was in a cafe yesterday watching the waiters do their thing and it took me back 365 days to when I was there.

This time last year I had just started freelancing at Southend Radio. It was a brilliant place to be at the time, summer by the sea was exceptional and regular news-reading was fantastic. They paid pretty swell too"

The task at hand was fantastic and I was making progress with Heart Essex who I was breakfast newsreader for throughout the world cup. Watching the lunchtime kick off's in the studio then racing home to watch the 15:00's and evenings. Vu Vu Zela!

It doesn't feel like its on the back burner now, I always say I'm a journalist when people ask and we're starting to pick it up at Shoreditch Radio so my head is still between the lines.

Mixing news reading with waiting tables at the S&M cafe in Farrdingdon seems worlds apart from 9-5 agency account managing for Incisive but I wont be rushing back.

Looking forward - I'm hitting Sky this weekend for some sport scripting and perhaps classified scores reading? Certainly didn't see myself here 365 days ago.

NYC next week - I'm tapping up some stations to maybe record a Killing Moon? And Wimbledon coverage for Radio Jackie and London 2012 all on the horizon.

25c, its all feeling nicely humid.

Ceiling Feeling

This sweet elated feeling
From my toes up to the ceiling

You get me & I get you
The synergies are nuts
Emothing now to the moon
This floating high down crux.

Shaking head
You in my bed
Fine dining I bring
So pretty & sing.

Wow times fifty
Already I know
those hips and that strut
Please again will you show?

You sharing this with me x

Show 12 Kiss me Again

There was so much emotion FM to this show, it doesn't make a second of sense but I really and truly loved every minute of it.

Higher flyering after interviewing Beau and Dr Jammin from the Beau and Arrows, they dropped by for a chat and we'll play their delicious new single the Fix out now.

Didz from the Cooper Temple Clause yes Didz live on the phone too! Its tremble some how much I still love that band and his favourite TCTC tune thrown in there.

The rest is just delinquent, Ken Bostero? I don't know how he got into the show but I can see you stayin here.

Burning blue flames - a new Valentine on the scene, she was a distant vision on February 14 but is very much in view right now.

Course we touched on Donnie Darko, course the Joy Formidable, Friendly Features, Blackouts, Strokes, and a dedication to my dad? I think Frank wants me to talk to him.

Press Play .....

May the 5th be with you

In exactly a calendar's time the finest fearsome foxtrotting females fan favourite returns from his voyages around the world and i'll be counting the clock till we rock.

When Jon Sims announced he'd be taking travels across the planet, the world crept out a delighted smile.

A size 14st on the scales he's a big man in stature but by far and away the personality holds more weight and wonder in motion.

A tongue like a razor, a six switch blade knife, he can do you favours but then you'll do whatever he likes!

Wasn't really that bothered at first, keeping regularly FB contact, definite a few -3 moments when the big city has been biting and I've had no one to bite back i've looked up and, and welled up.

Think we spoke on the phone pretty much every day prior to the October je departure, now with May Five firmly in sight its time to get the banner and box fresh band rolled out for the welcome back.

Soo uncontainable is his normal level of excitement - he struggles to formulate words, bumps into you, devours foods and demands to be entertained 25/7.

On vacation this can sometimes get a little close as Dan, Pat, Emma, Lisa, Hannah? Will all agree, but a companion I can't wait to have back and here in the hug some flesh.

Enjoy your last 30 days, Your the biggest adventure the southern hemisphere has ever laid eyes on and the party is gunner be beyond the hook when you return.

West London Derby 2-4 the April Fools

Particularly pleasing show this week, the gang before us left the studio in a right ridiculous state hence the iffy intro to the show.

General chitter twatter was around Fergie's rant at the FA, Michael Jackson at Craven Cottage, Brentford at Wembley and Stoke v Barcelona.

We both done shout's to our mothers and to yours as well so its an all round giving show.

Friendly Fires - Relationships kicked us off, bit of classic Strokes, Don Henley Boys of summer, Suzanne Vega and Madonna for all the ladies / gents.

It was like soccer am but in the pm only no cross bar challenge, skill skool, tubes, guests, penalty shoot out, Helen Chamberlin , , ,

It was nothing like soccer am but you might enjoy some of it.
